Opening

A manager opens the branch's cash drawer with a counted float. Until it is open, cash payments have nothing to post against — which is intentional, since it is the step that makes the day's cash figure meaningful.

If a drawer from a previous day is still open, the app prompts to close yesterday's till first rather than letting two business days share one session.

Through the day

1. Book jobs in at the counter with photos, issues and a promised date
2. Progress jobs along the pipeline as work happens — each change is timelined and can message the customer
3. Record part costs against jobs as they are incurred, while the real number is known
4. Ring up retail sales against the open drawer
5. Take deposits at intake and balances at handover

Global search (Ctrl-K) finds a job, customer or device from anywhere, which is usually faster than navigating to it when someone is waiting at the counter.

Closing

A manager counts the till and closes the drawer. That single action is the day's close-out — there is no separate end-of-day step, because the two were merged after shops reliably did one and not the other.

Any difference between counted and expected cash is recorded and alerts the owner and branch managers, whether the till is short or over.
