Staff notifications and push

The in-app bell always works. Web push needs staff to opt in, and on iPhone it needs the site installed to the home screen.

The notification bell

Every signed-in user gets a bell that updates in real time. Some notifications broadcast to a branch, others target one person — a salary advance decision goes to the person who asked, a cash discrepancy goes to the owner and managers.

Web push

Staff opt into push from the bell dropdown. Once opted in, alerts reach the device with the app closed.

iPhone / iPadYes, with a conditionInstall to home screen first, iOS 16.4 or later

The iOS restriction is Apple's and applies to every web application — no web-based product can deliver push to Safari on iOS without the site being installed. The in-app bell works on every device regardless.

Scheduled daily alerts

A scheduled pass runs several times a day looking for things that should have happened and did not: stock at or below threshold, receivables past fourteen days, missed clock-ins thirty minutes after shift start, and branches that did not open or close their drawer. Each is deduplicated so it fires once per occurrence rather than once per run.

Frequently asked questions

Why am I not getting push notifications on my iPhone?
On iOS, web push requires the site to be installed to the home screen and the device to be running iOS 16.4 or later. This is an Apple platform restriction affecting all web applications, not something a website can work around. Add Horus Repair to your home screen, open it from there, and opt in from the bell. The in-app bell works regardless.
How often do the scheduled alerts run?
Several times a day at fixed times, checking for low stock, overdue receivables, missed clock-ins and drawers that were not opened or closed. Each alert is deduplicated against the underlying record, so a condition that persists produces one alert rather than one per run.
