Customer updates over WhatsApp

Horus Repair drafts the WhatsApp message on every status change. You choose whether a human sends it or the system does.

How messages are sent

On a status change the app composes a message in Egyptian Arabic containing the job details and the tracking link, and opens WhatsApp with it prepared. There is no SMS gateway to configure and no per-message cost — the message goes from the shop's own WhatsApp.

  • Auto-notify on status change — draft the message automatically at each transition
  • Auto-send — send without a person reviewing the draft first
  • Google review URL — appended to the pickup message when set
Sending is consent-gated. Set each customer's contact consent and preferred channel on their record, and quiet hours in shop settings. A customer marked as declined is never messaged — that applies to staff pressing send too, not only auto-send. Quiet hours hold back automatic messages only, so staff can still answer someone who contacted them at night. Customers added before consent capture existed default to behaving as they always did, so turning this on breaks nothing.

The tracking page

Every job has a public status page reached from a short link or the QR code printed on the receipt. The customer enters the phone number the job was booked under to view it. There is no customer account to create.

The page shows current status and the promised date. Internal notes, part costs and margin are not exposed.

Frequently asked questions

How do I set up customer notifications in Horus Repair?
Enable auto-notify on status change in settings so a WhatsApp message is drafted at every transition, and optionally enable auto-send so it goes without review. Add your Google review URL to have it appended to the pickup message. No SMS gateway or messaging account is required — messages go from the shop's own WhatsApp.
Do customers need to log in to track their repair?
No. They open the short tracking link from their message or scan the QR code on their receipt, then enter the phone number the job was booked under. There is no account and no password.

More in customers

  • Staff notifications and push

The in-app bell always works. Web push needs staff to opt in, and on iPhone it needs the site installed to the home screen.
