Technicians, Attendance & Payroll

Commission is calculated on money actually collected, not money invoiced — a small schema decision with large consequences for whether technicians believe the number.

Commission on collected, not invoiced

Most systems commission technicians on invoiced labour. That quietly overpays on work the customer has not paid for, and then claws it back later — which is the single fastest way to make a technician stop trusting their payslip.

Horus Repair commissions on collected labour. A technician's number goes up when the money arrives. It is a smaller number more often, and it is a number nobody has to argue about at the end of the month.

Attendance built around real shifts

  • Shift start and end times per person, held as Cairo local times
  • Days off per person as actual weekdays — a Friday-off shop is not an edge case here
  • A kiosk mode for clocking in on a shared device at the shop, rather than everyone needing their own login on their own phone
  • A missed clock-in alert once someone is thirty minutes past shift start, skipping their days off
  • A per-technician view where staff see their own attendance, jobs and earnings

Compensation records are role-agnostic. Managers and counter staff can carry shifts, attendance and pay in exactly the same way technicians do, because in a small shop the manager also fixes phones.

Payroll and salary advances

Payroll runs against recorded attendance and the compensation set for each person. Salary advances are a first-class workflow rather than a note in a drawer: a technician requests, an owner or manager approves or declines, both parties are notified, and the advance is carried against the payroll run.

Advances against wages are an ordinary part of how Egyptian shops operate. Modelling them properly is the difference between the system reflecting the business and the business keeping a second set of books beside it.

Frequently asked questions

Is technician commission based on invoiced or collected work?
Collected. Commission accrues when the customer actually pays, not when the job is invoiced. This avoids paying commission on unpaid work and then clawing it back, which is the usual reason technicians stop trusting their payslip.
Can technicians clock in without their own device?
Yes. A kiosk mode runs on a shared device at the shop, so staff clock in and out there rather than each needing a personal login on a personal phone.
Can managers and counter staff have attendance and pay records too?
Yes. Compensation and attendance records are role-agnostic — anyone can carry shifts, days off, payroll and commission, not just people with a technician role. In a small shop the manager repairs devices too, and the system does not fight that.
Does Horus Repair handle salary advances?
Yes, as a proper workflow. A staff member requests an advance, an owner or manager approves or declines it, both sides are notified, and the amount is carried against the payroll run rather than tracked informally.

  • Reports & Exports

Reports read from the ledger the drawer is closed against, so the report and the till tell the same story — and anything on screen can be exported.

  • Staff Notifications & Daily Alerts

Two kinds of alert: something just happened, and something should have happened by now but did not. The second kind is the one that catches problems.

  • Multi-Branch Management

Each branch keeps its own stock, its own till and its own staff, while the owner sees the whole business — and a branch manager sees only the branch they run.
